Description
Changing a company name with the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (CIPC) in South Africa is a formal process that allows registered businesses to update their legal name. The process involves submitting a name reservation application (Form CoR 9.1) to check the availability of the desired new name. Once approved, the company must file a name change application (Form CoR 15.2) along with the relevant supporting documents. Upon successful processing, CIPC will issue a new registration certificate reflecting the updated name. The company retains its registration number and legal status, with only the name being changed.
